The City of Fruitland Park is proudly served by a 25 member Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. These men and women are trained and certified by the State of Florida. All members are trained to render Basic Life Support. In addition several are trained as Para Medics, Emergency Medical Technicians and Registered Nurses. All are trained in the use of the most modern Automatic External Defibrillators, which are a part of emergency response equipment. The Fire Department responds to fires, medical calls and traffic accidents.
Most often these volunteers are first on the scene to render extrication from auto accidents, basic life support, and or
extinguish fires. The City of Fruitland Park has agreements in place with the neighboring cities and counties to render mutual aid. Fruitland Park is well prepared for emergencies with two Class A pumper trucks, two off road brush trucks and a fully equipped rescue vehicle.
